Was going to Nancy in the P.M. but was put on another investigation board so instead of hitting the pastry high water mark again I hopped into a Salmson with 2nd Lieut Newell and flew across France to Chatillon-sur-Seine.

A Liberty piloted by an N.C.O. aviator had made 3 attempts at landing on this half way station on the Romorantin route. On the fourth trial the nervous Liberty dropped off the top of a lone tree on one side of the airdrome, crashed and burst into flames immediately on
