I am glad I was able to go through them and come out alive. I couldn't have missed them for worlds; yet I hardly desire to repeat them. I do not love the army for the army practises and my ideas of fairness do not always coincide. Yet I do believe in a standing armed force and if someone has the job to do it is everymans duty whether or not he likes the life.

I'm glad the Allies won the war. I mourn the loss of the comrades I fought the enemy with. I detest the Germans ^[in everything but their System)... Finis to this chapter.
