Mr. Clyfford Trevor,
C/O Jacques Seligmann & Fils,
Ancien Hotel de Sagan,
57, Rue Saint Dominique,
Paris, FRANCE.

My dear Mr. Trevor,

I am in receipt of your letter of July 18 which was forwarded to me from Palm Beach, Florida. I note that a portrait of SERGEANT MURPHY by Sir William Orpen has been placed on the market and you make inquiries if I would be interested in the purchase of it. I have heard much of this artist, and realize the value of his paintings; however I would not be interested in securing this portrait as I have no personal attachment for the subject.

I am taking the liberty of informing Mr. John Sanford that this portrait is for sale. The horse, SERGEANT MURPHY was owned by his son.

With kindest personal regards,

I am,

Sincerely,
