Dear Madam:

We are herewith sending you the little painting by LEIGHTON which we have restored for you.

At the same time, we wish to tell you how sorry we were that you were kept waiting this morning. As I explained to you, the young man who had this matter in hand had gone out and he had put the picture in one of our reserve rooms with the intention of delivering it this afternoon.
