[[underlined]]CONFEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DES NEGOCIANTS EN OBJETS D'ART[[/underlined]]  - C.I.N.O.A. -

We have been honored with the recent visit of its Vice-President Monsieur Jean Cailleux, of Paris, France, and it was the privilege of the Executive Committee to tender a luncheon in his honor at The Gotham. This, or course, offered the opportunity to discuss several questions which may be featured in this year' agenda. Mr. Freeman was also host to M. Cailleux at a small dinner party just before his sailing for France.

It was indeed fortunate that M. Cailleux was able to so suggest a date for this year's congress at Paris which will be convenient for what we trust will be the largest delegation ever to attend it on behalf of the League, representing the United States trade around the table.

At this writing, the President hopes that several of his fellow officers will join him about July 9th, when this year's international convention will take place. He also hopes that Mr. Alex. G. Lewis, one of the most active participants in the formation of this international association, will be able to join our delegation.

Matters of truly great interest will be taken up, according to the first suggested agenda received a few days ago. Amongst them are:

Preparation of an international congress in 1954;

Preparation of an international exposition of antiques and works of art;

Regulations for export appraisals and warranties;

Arbitration and Rules of Procedure applying thereto.

The President is anxious to hear from any members who expect to be in Paris in July and who might want to take part in this year's meeting. He would be particularly pleased if some representative from the California Chapter, and other out-of-town members would join him.

Please communicate with the Executive Secretary in order that proper credentials may be prepared ahead of time.

A very sincere greeting and a most cordial expression of good will is hereby extended to the recently elected officers of the League's Chapter in that wonderful part of the United States.

Now headed by Mrs. Grace Ellis, President, we certainly entertain the hope that our relationship with the organization will be cemented on the friendliest mutual regard, as heretofore.

THE PROXIES SO MANY MEMBERS MAILED TO THE SECRETARY REPRESENTED [[underlined]]YOU[[/underlined]] AT THE ANNUAL MEETING AND ELECTION. Your correspondent therefore trusts that this report will bring the organization nearer and nearer to you - and you to us. MANY THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR PERSONAL INTEREST AND COOPERATION.
