Dear Mr. Hofer:

Though I know you are abroad and probably do not wish to be disturbed, I am sending you these few lines thinking they might be of interest to you.

In connection with the manuscript you recently purchased from the Duke d'Arenberg collection, No. 21, Professor A. W. Byvanck wrote to me the following: (it) "had been written for a house of the Brigittine Order. As St. Anne has a so prominent position, it must have been the monastery Rosmalen named Annenberg near Bois-le-duc. It is the first illuminated manuscript of the province of North Brabant I know of".

Professor Byvanck is certainly well known to you, hence the value you might put on his comments.

With all good wishes,

Sincerely yours,

Germain Seligman
