Dear Mr. Hatch,

I am recently in receipt of a letter from our New York office to the effect that we have had the pleasure of your visit not long ago, in the interest of the Museum at Seattle.

I am further informed that you are plan^[[n]]ing to hold a fine exhibition of Gothic works of art during the month of November. I donot know whether or not anything that you saw in our New York galleries particularly interested you, but in any case, I should very much appreciate gearing from you regarding the type of object you have in mind, and whether the field is restricted to sculpture.

Since my studies at Yale and Harvard, I have taken over the Museum activities for the firm, and am particularly interested in the development of these institutions throughout the country.

Although I have never been to Seattle, I have heard reports of minor exhibitions from time to time, and I am wondering if in the near future Seattle will not come to the fore as one of the leading art centers in the West.

I am sure that there are a great many men there who might be interested in fine works of art, and in the progress of the art museum, and who would develop a very high standard and manifest a great deal of personal taste.

I hope you will realize my genuine interest in writing to you, and I would appreciate the favour of a reply concerning this exhibition, or any other proposed activities of the Museum, for it would be my pleasure to help with information, or in any way possible regarding the exhibitions.

Trusting to hear from you in the near future, I remain,

Very sincerely yours,

(Robert M. Levy)
