George A. Newhall, Esq.,
Burlingame,
Calif.

Dear Sir:

I have often heard of your great interest for art, and would greatly enjoy taking advantage of my coming trip to California to make your acquaintance.

I suppose our firm, which has been instrumental in the formation of the most important American collections, and which is represented also in the principal museums of this country, is pretty well known to you.

I expect to be in San Francisco at the end of this month, where I will stop at the Hotel St. Francis, and will take the liberty of calling you up to find out whether it is convenient for you to receive me.

Very truly yours,
