8 BRIDGE STREET, NEW YORK
[[/preprinted]]

May 8, 1929.

Jacques Seligmann & Co. Inc.,
3 East 51st Street,
New York, N.Y.

Dear Sirs:

The United Kingdom Lines at meeting today considered many protests received with respect to rate adopted at meeting last month and after full discussion adopted a rate of $1.00 per cu.ft. with a minimum charge of $10. per package, plus 3% ad valorem if the valuation is shown on the bill of lading and is in excess of liability stipulated in carrier's customary printed bill of lading clause. Inasmuch as this action was taken in lieu of action taken at the previous meeting the rate becomes effective as of April 12th. The classification to which this rate applies includes Paintings, Tapestries, Etchings, Watercolors and Antiques.

Very truly yours,

[[signed]]J Sinclair[[/signed]]
Chairman.
