Dear Mrs. Noyes:

I thought I would let you know that we have just acquired a superb painting by George Romney. It is a portrait of Captain Milnes, who is seen in the brilliant blue and red uniform of a British officer of the period, and who was one time governor of lower Canada and Quebec.

It was painted during the artist's finest period and it is in perfect condition, and owing to its color, it is far more decorative than the great majority of the women's portraits the artist painted.

If you thought you would be at all interested, we would be pleased to send you further particulars upon hearing from you. In the meanwhile,

Believe us to be,

Yours very truly,

Jacques Séligmann & Co. Inc.
