My dear Mr. Paine:

May I take the liberty of inquiring whether you would be good enough to permit me to call on you and have an opportunity of seeing your paintings which I have heard about so often?

I will be in Boston for three or four days from December 7th on at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, and I should very much appreciate it if you could possibly receive me then.

Until the collapse of France I was at the head of our Paris branch and this being my first visit to the States, I am anxious to see all the interesting collections.

Looking forward to the pleasure of making your acquaintance, and with anticipated thanks for your courtesy,

Very sincerely yours,

(Georges E. Seligmann)
