My dear Mrs. Rosensteil:

We have just received catalogues of the furniture, works of art, tapestries and sculpture, as well as photographs of the paintings and drawings which will be included in the sale of the late Mr. Mortimer L. Schiff's Collection, sold by order of his son, Mr. John M. Schiff.

A number of these items were bought a great many years ago from my uncle, the late Mr. Jacques Séligmann and we are extremely familiar with the collection.

There will be in this auction -- taking into consideration present day conditions -- great opportunities to buy works of art, furniture and paintings of the finest quality and of the greatest interest for a fraction of their cost price. We do not hesitate to state that as fine a collection has not been placed on the market in many years.

Outside of their artistic perfection, most of these items came from illustrious collections and have figured in most of the prominent exhibitions of recent years.

If you are interested, I will be very glad to show you a catalogue and the photographs which we have.

Asking you to kindly remember me to Mr. Rosensteil,

Please believe me

Yours sincerely,

(René Seligmann)
