Dear Mr. Spitz:

After your visit yesterday I looked up the price of Manuscript No.82 and thought you might like to have it before dropping in again. It is Twelve Thousand Dollars.

You no doubt will recall that in our catalogue "Illuminated Manuscripts from the Bibliotheque of Their Highnesses the Dukes d'Arenberg", this manuscript is described by Professor Meyer Shapiro as follows:

"PSALTER AND HOURS" No.82

Southern Netherlands (Huy), second Half XIII Century.
7-ΒΌ x 5 inches.

A very interesting manuscript. Latin, with French rubrics. Gothic script. 228 vellum leaves.

Eighteen initials with miniatures on gold ground and many borders with fantastic figures and birds. In the calendar, paintings of the Zodiac and the occupations of the months on gold ground. The saints of the calendar and the litany indicate the origin of the manuscript in the Church of the Virgin and Saint Domitian at Huy in the diocese of Liege. The date MCXL over the Easter table on fol, 8 is the first year in the 26-year cycles of the Easter computations.

Tooled leather binding of the XVI century."

As I mentioned, Mr. Seligman will be back in New York March 3rd or 4th, but meanwhile in my next telephone conversation or cable I shall tell him of your visit.

Very sincerely yours

Mrs. T.D. Parker

Mr. Joel Spitz,
320 South Franklin St.
