Dear Mrs. Swift:

Although it is a very long time since I had the pleasure of meeting you, I thought I would let you know that we have just brought over from England, one of the most important 18th century English portraits that has ever left that country.

It is the famous portrait of Lady Lovat by Sir Thomas Lawrence and it has always been considered to be the most cherished heirloom of the family, so much so, that it has never been permitted to be either reproduced nor exhibited. uite apart from the fact that Lady Lovat was one of the famous beauties of her day, the picture is most brilliant in color, as she is seen wearing a bright scarlet velvet dress. It is likewise quite important in size, as it measures 40" by 50". If you thought you would be at all interested in it, I would be very pleased to send you a photograph of it.

In the meanwhile, looking forward to hearing from you and with my kind regards,

Believe me to be,

Yours very truly,

(Clyfford Trevor)
