TO NEW YORK POLICYHOLDERS

The Compensation obligation is secured by the purchase of an insurance policy or otherwise complying with the insurance requirements, plus the posting of the enclosed notice, which is in accordance with the form prescribed by the Industrial Commissioner. The law requires that such notice shall be posted and maintained in a conspicuous place or places of your business premises and such act on your part, in addition to the purchase of your policy, secures the Compensation obligation.

We deem it our duty to call your special attention to the section of the law treating with the failure to secure Compensation reading as follows:

"Section 52. Affect of failure to secure Compensation. Failure to secure the payment of Compensation shall constitute a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than $500 or imprisonment of not more than one year, or both."

It is our understanding that the Industrial Commissioner will find it necessary to take active steps in all cases where the law is not fully complied with.
