My dear Mr. Trees:

Your interest in early paintings has often been mentioned to me and I am therefore taking the liberty of calling to your attention two extremely important primitives which we have just purchased.

One is anvery large Italian painting of the Sienese School, executed around 1360. The other is a French Primitive, painted around 1470. They are both of extremely fine quality and in a remarkable state of preservation, and are worthy of any collection. They are reasonably priced and I would gladly send you further particulars if you would care to have them - about either, or both.

Looking forward to hearing from you, I am,

Very truly yours,
