Dear Mr. Seligmann:

Thank you so much for receiving Mrs. Leighton and myself so graciously yesterday. I am writing now to ask you formally for the loan of the Gustave Moreau painting "Orphée ou la jeune fille de Thrace" for an exhibition of 19th Century Romantic Painting to be held at Trinity School from February 8 - March 5 of this year.

We will of course insure the painting fully from the time it leaves your gallery until it is returned to you. James Lebron will collect the work on February 5 in the morning and will deliver it back to you on March 5th.

We would appreciate it very much if you were to indicate on the loan forms we left with you yesterday the English translation of the title. Several possibilities have occurred to me and I would like to know which you consider the best. For example, Orpheus and the Young Thracian, Young Thracian Girl or Woman, or Orpheus and the Young Girl (or Woman) from Thrace. Please return one of the loan forms to Mrs. Leighton as early as possible as we need the information for the catalog.

With repeated thanks for your cooperation I am,

Very sincerely yours,

P.S. We have noted that the frame is very valuable.
