Dear Mr. Seligmann,

In the spring of 1946 I brought you up a number of paintings , on the recommendation of [[pencil underlined]] Miss Beatrice Tompkins [[/pencil underlined]] of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. At that time you professed some interest in this work and took my name and address saying that you would probably come down to see some more of my stuff. My inference was that this would be pretty soon. Apparently not.

Since I have no way of knowing if this was intentional or accidental, I am writing to find out. What is the situation here? Have you decided that there is nothing to be gained by seeing the stuff, or have you lost track of my name & address? If the former, OK; if the second, here you are

The reason I bring this up is that I am intending to leave for Paris in the spring or summer, and I don't intend to burden myself with a lot of bulky paintings; when I came here from Chicago I left everything there, and have never regretted it. So when I leave New York I shall again dump all the paintings I have on whomever will take them.

You did seem to be interested so it is only reasonable to let you know this. What you choose to do about it is of course your own business.

But I would like to know what's up, if anything.
