The following forms are described as new:  [[underlined]] Formicarius nigricapillus [[/underlined]] Cherrie, (Costa Rica to Western Ecuador), [[underlined]] F. saturatus [[/underlined]] (Trinidad and Venezuela to Colombia) and [[underlined]] F. umbrosus [[/underlined]] (Eastern Costa Rica).
