I have the honor to submit herewith a report upon work done in the Department of Birds during the month of October, 1894.

The number of specimens entered in the Museum register during October was 325 (catalogue numbers 134737-135061 inclusive), the principal accessions being the following:-

From [[underlined]] Dr. E.A. Mearus, U.S.A., [[/underlined]] Fort Myer, Virginia; 125 specimens (34 species), from Southern California, etc. (Acc. 28540 part. Collected for the Museum).
