little done.  Lunch lasted till 4.30 & indeed they were out till just before* supper with nowhere near collecting done that they had planned.  Al says now he does not want to go to any islands where there are people & wants to make no further acquaintances.  Tried electric light over side & got practically nothing, one slender little fish, few worms and lot of little "specks" (copepods) and four (2-3) euphausids (shrimp).  To bed at 9.30.

*Forgot they were 3/4 hr. late for supper & we (Capt. Fenner & I did not wait but 45 mins for them.

We had planned making a trip through river separating the two parts of Guadeloupe, but Clarke wanted buy doll, I wanted mail letter to Bredin (all our other mail we are letting go till Antigua) & visit Adrian Questal who had been a friend of the Institution over the years (back).  Hadn't heard from him in some time.  Anyway near the landing was a big hardware establishment (wholesaler maybe) [[strikethrough]] to whi [[/strikethrough]] with name A. Questal on top.  But that man said Q. we were looking for was another family and gave us some general directions for getting there
