Sir

I want a colored man to teach a colored school at Wardville, Prince George Co, Md. The school will be a large one in a pleasant place, with a good new house The people will pay all but the salary. Will you furnish the man? If so please send me his name & application & I will get him transportation.

This place is but a short distance from Calvert Co.

Very respectfully yours
John Kimball
Supt of Schools.

P.S. This is in addition to the four for Calvert Co., the two for St.Mary's and one for Anne Arundel before requested -- two of whom are now in the field.

Dear Sir

Four (4) colored young men from Philadelphia will be down on the boat Wednesday for the 4 schools for which you asked four teachers. They will land at Duke's Wharf as you requested. You will that they get to their several places and get under way with their schools.

Very respectfully yours
John Kimball
Supt of Schools

P.S. Are the other houses ready? If so let me know immediately.

our Agent, a colored man by the name of [[underlined]] John H. Butler [/underlined]], will meet them and take them to their various schools. Should Mr. Butler fail to meet them they will get to their places as best they can. The places where they are to teach are called Asbury Chapel, Island Creek, Parkers Creek and Mount Hope. Mr Butler says they want an experienced teacher for the school at Parkers Creek as the people there are not half civilized and a [[underlined]] hard [/underlined]] teacher will suit them best. I have no choice about the other places. The boat starts from Baltimore early Wednesday morning. If they get to B. in time I wish you would tell them to go to the Tyson Building and see Friend Janney. He will show them the way to the boat, and give them some books I hope with which to start, as the people are poor and such help will be very well received. If you could send on some 2d hand books with them, or maps or charts, I shall be glad. There have never been any schools in Calvert Co.

I cannot tell you the name of the boat or wharf at Baltimore, but think the boat is Martha Washington.

Very respectfully yours
John Kimball
Supt of Schools.

I have a long letter from [[underlined]] Davis [/underlined]]. I do not think it best to reply to him, as I suppose the letter would be examined before going to him. I cannot do anything for him. I doubt very much their being able to bring him in guilty. I have written to the Society for a new teacher for his place.

Very respectfully yours
