Dear Sir:

[[underlined]] Miss Mann [[/underlined]] and myself both think you had better try to get something to do where you are, and thus show to all the people that you intend to be an honest man. I am very glad that no charge has been made out against you.

I am not willing to continue your commission as teacher under the circumstances.

You will turn over the commission and register to [[underlined]] Capt. Lawrence. [[/underlined]]

told me to write you asking how soon the place can be made ready? How large a school will be gathered? Will the boarding-place be in a good white family, and how far from the school? On what boat should she come; on what day, and where land? The people must pay board and buy books. We want to send her down immediately, and must do so, if at all. They might as well get the house done in a week, as in a longer time. Reply immediately.

Very Respectfully Yours,
