Dear Sir

I have written Mr Smith that we shall be glad to have the meeting on the 19th Saturday at 12 o'clock PM or 1 o'c. PM. We shall want to get through so as to come home same day. We wish to have the meeting in the place fixed upon by your friends out there. Wherever that may be. We want all the colored to turn out & just as many whites as care to come. We would like all to hear what we have to say & any good notice given in your county paper will help the meeting. I trust I shall be glad if such notice is given.

Very Respectfully Yours

Sir

When we sent Mr. [[underlined]] Gaskill [[/underlined]] to Frostburg it was with the promise on the part of the colored people that they would pay his board. If they have not done it, they ought to do it. I presume he did all he could to get them to do pay. I suppose you took him to board knowing where the money would come from & running your own risk. The other person you wrote about, we know nothing of & have had nothing to do with any one but Mr. "G" as teacher. I hope you will not suffer any loss.

Very Respectfully Yours

Can you not give us some teachers for Maryland, we have aided in building a large number of School houses & now we find great difficulty in getting teachers. The people will pay their board & all the expenses of the School except the salary. We will pay transportation on. Thus you can support a teacher for $75.00 or $120.00 per month. In most places we want colored teachers. I now have charge of the whole
