Sir

I find an application for lumber to aid in building a school house for colored children in your place. We are willing to aid in the good work all that we can. Will you please inform me if a deed of sufficient land has been obtained and held by School trustee, and are the people able & ready to go on with a building immediately.

I have intendet to visit your place very soon. Would it do good to hold an educational meeting and have Judge [[underlined]] Bond [[/underlined]] and General [[underlined]] Howard [[/underlined]] come downe. Hoping to hear from you soon.
