I also ask transportation for Mr [[underlined]] Gaines [[/underlined]] from Baltimore Md to this city, thence to Alexandria Va and Piscataway Charles Co. Md, where he is to labor.

Mr. Gaines address is 82 South Baltimore St. Baltimore Md.

part of a church lot for a school (colored) but say they have consulted you and you say a good title cannot be made out, without the consent of the Md. Legislature.  As you have examined this case, will you please inform me if it is true that they cannot grant this land in some legal way so that a school house may be built.  We are willing to help them, but not upon ground that has not a good title for a public colored school.
