Sir

Miss [[underlined]] Anna P. Bell [[/underlined]] taught one of my schools in Md. last year. It was her first school in a hard place, she did pretty well, but lacks a little in energy. I think with experience she will do better. I have however hesitated about sending her back into the country again.

She belongs to a very good family and has a good reputation as a lady and scholar, so far as she [[?]] studied.

Very Respectfully
