Sir

Miss [[underlined]] Mary A. C. Coakley [[/underlined]] thaught her first school in Maryland last year. She did pretty well, but I have not been quite willing to send her back to her old school. She will do better with more experience.

Her education is defective in some branches and she ought to attend school longer. She is

very good in some branches.

She is a lady of good character.

Respectfully Yours

[[underlined]] Harris [[/underlined]] father called on me yesterday and says that [[underlined]] Harris [[/underlined]] writes him that the school house is so open, that he is getting sick and the scholars are leaving.

Cannot we get them to complete the house so that the school can go on in cold weather. I hope you will get them at work again.
