Madam: You must write me how many of each kind of books you want. How are they to be sent? Where will you get them? and shall I send them in your name?

You send your letter addressed from Brandywine; is that to be your post office? You will have to pay me, or return to me in good condition every book asked for. I am glad you are getting on well. I shall send this letter to Nottingham.

Have you a "Daily Register" and blanks for monthly report.

Respectfully yours

Madam: I am in great need of good colored teachers (men and women) for lower Maryland. The houses are ready and the people will pay board, and Bureau the rent, which will pay salary in part. Cannot you send us a few?

If your Society cannot send, will you not give me the names of some persons who want to come out and do a good work. Men are the best, as boarding places are often far away. Hope you will do something for us.

Respectfully yours,

Sir: I am glad to hear from you so often. Yet all the schools agoing you can. I will furnish you blanks for them when you wish. Have the houses done which are underway. Good way to send me name of teacher and important man in each place. After you have done what you can in lower counties, do not object to your working along up. Keep me advised where you are.

[[underlined]] Josiah H. Hughes, [[/underlined]] Chairman of the Board of Trustees, asks for a house at [[?Rooseville]], Queen Anne County; says they have bought land - one acre. Want a house 30 x 40 feet. Wants lumber sent to Booney Wharf, Chester river. Will you visit the place and find out what is best to be done?

Madam: I am sorry for this delay; but enjoy yourself a few days longer. I will have you at work by the 1st of November. The place where I want to send you is not quite ready. You have no idea of the difficulty in getting boarding places for the best ladies in New England: even in Maryland.

Very respectfully
