Dear Sir: I will send a white or colored teacher (man or woman) if the people will furnish place for the [[strikethrough]] board [[/strikethrough]] school and pay board of the teacher and incidentals of the school. I can get a good white lady. Please inform me what sort of a teacher is wanted. I am sorry about the conduct of the last teacher. He had good papers and when I visited Frostburg seemed to be teaching a good school.

Have you heard from Miss [[underlined]] Howell, [[/underlined]] and has she gone to St. Marys? I have asked transportation for the Cummings sisters to Calvert County to teach, where Cole and Jones were last year. I want them to go without fail from Baltimore, next Wednesday.

You did not say if you wanted a man or woman, white or colored, at Pomonkey, or how the teacher was to reach the school and to whom report. Please inform me and I will send immediately. James will go to Budd's Ferry on Friday.

Your name has been given me as one who would like to teach a colored school. Would you like to take a place in Lower Maryland wherever needed at $20. per month and board and transportation one way for eight months? If so let me know and send references.

Respectfully yours,
