Madame:
I send you a daily register, and blanks for monthly reports. You will send your reports carefully made out in envelopes addressed like the one I send, and you need not put any postage stamp on.

I send you

30 1# Reading books, | at 16 cts each — | $4,80
1 Guyot's geography | 41 " [[ditto for cts]] | ,41
3 Felter's 1st lessons | 16 " [[ditto for cts]] | ,48
1 Felter's primary | 18 " [[ditto for cts]] | ,18.
Total | $5,87

A bill of other things not included, above, will be brought by Mr. [[underlined]] Johnson. [[/underlined]] I wish you to commence school immediately.

The people must pay your board either by charging tuition for scholars or in any other way the trustees think best, and they must take care of the school house and keep it warm. You must keep up a full school. If the people will not send their children the school must stop. Sometimes the people get up a fair and pay board, and sometimes a number of men pay so much a month.

If it will not be too hard for you I would like you to have a night school for the men and women.

I shall charge all books, slates &c, to you. You must sell them to the people, and children. I shall come and see you as soon as I can.

Very Respectfully Yours,

Miss:
I know of nothing at this time to prevent my being with you on the evening of the 14th of December, for the examination of your school, and to perform the ceremony. If any thing should prevent, I will try to let you know. Genl. C. H. Howard wishes me to say that he is just now going West, but hopes to be back so as to be out at that time. It will be necessary to have a license for your marriage. I do not know where it can be obtained, but your intended will attend to that.

Very Respectfully Yours,
