Dear Sir:

I shall be able to arrange that transportation I think. Genl. [[underlined]] W. [[/underlined]] informes me that he wrote you about something due on transportation sent Oct. 12th owing to change of route. I promised to give you a hint, to keep him in good humor.

You have not said you would take that man [[underlined]] Douglas. [[/underlined]] I want more men badly. Schools ought to be open. I have not forgotten Mrs. [[underlined]] Hemenway [[/underlined]] but have not found the right place for her yet.

Very Respectfully Yours,

Dear Sir:

We cannot commence any houses that will not be completed by the middle of December. We would not think best to try to make anything out of that log house. If the people will promise to put up a good house by that time I will send you blank for a deed, and we will help to the amount of $300. Is the lot bought from a church or from other parties? I will also send you plan of house which we help to build. We pay money when the house is done. Size 20 x 32 ft.

Very Respectfully Yours,
