and tell them if it is not well kept up I shall withdraw their teacher, and not send them another. We shall not go on to build the house as begun. Genl. [[underlined]] Howard [[/underlined]] will not aid to build so large a house, or one on leased land. I am sorry for their trouble and expense, but what has been done has not cost over $50.00. If they will buy a lot of ground, and send us copy of the deed, and build a house, say 20 x 30 feet, and have it done by the last of next month, we will pay $300.00 as soon as the house is done.

They ought to have a school house but that hall will do until they can unite and do better. Start your school on Monday and make it first class.

Very Respectfully Yours,

Dear Sir:

A colored man from Piscataway, Prince George Co. Md. has just been in my office: says he is starting a Sunday school in the little new school-house we helped them to build, and wants to know if I cannot get him some papers; says he used to get some in Washington, but cannot now. This is one of many cases. Most all our teachers have Sabbath schools. Two thirds of the people at Piscataway are Catholics, and yet many of them will come to Sunday school. Cannot you donate me 200 copies per month for such cases? I make a small request now but when I return your answers showing the good done, I think you will send me more. The people are very ignorant.

Very Respectfully Yours,
