Dear Sir:
Please inform me who owns the buildings where schools are held in your State. Mention each one and tell the owner. Also give me the post-office address of each teacher. I want this information immediately. Of course I refer to cold schools.

Dear Sir:

I am willing for you to start a school a Horse Head in the new school-house. If you can get up a good school, and the people will help you, and you can make me a good report, I can get you a little help. We pay good teachers twenty dollars ($20.00.) per month, and the people pay the board. I could not promise you half that now, but if you show that you can teach a good school, I can get you some help. There must be a school started some way in that house.

Very Respectfully Yours

Dear Sir:

I want you to employ Mr. [[underlined]] Wm F. Marshall, [[/underlined]] at Newburgh, Charles Co. Md., giving him a salary of ten dollars ($10.00) per month. He has started a school in a colored church, and had last month forty-seven pupils, with an average of thirty. I know him and regard him as a worthy colored man, not so well educated as he ought to be, but as good as some in the field, and he wants to do good in a needy place.

I hope you will take [[underlined]] Taylor [[/underlined]] in St. Mary's Co.
