I send you transportation.  You will come to Washington and go from here by stage to Rockville, (a daily stage), and [[strikethrough]] by [[/strikethrough]] from there by stage to Poolsville, which stage goes from Rockville Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

I have not heard from any one at New Bedford, and dont know that any one beside yourself wants to come on.

You will come to see me in Washington, at my office in Howard University.  Should I not be at home, my clerk (Mr. [[underlined]] Crosby [[/underlined]]) will give you all information.  You will report at Poolsville to [[underlined]] John Adams. [[/underlined]]

I expect to send you Mr. [[underlined]] Johnson, [[/underlined]] a colored man teacher, from Philadelphia, by the "W. W. Coit", to land at Coburn's or Plowden's Wharf..  He will come next week, if this boat is running from Baltimore.  If not, he will come by some other Steamer or by Stage.  I expect you to pay his board, and have a large school.

I expect to send you a teacher, [[underlined]] H. F. Owens, [[/underlined]] a colored man from Philadelphia, by the W. W. Coit, next week, if she is running from Baltimore.  If not he will come by stage to Leonardtown, or by boat, if there is any.

I want you to start the school strong.  We expect you to [[strikethrough]] start the school [[/strikethrough]] pay the board.  We pay his salary, same as with [[underlined]] Scott. [[/underlined]]  Get him a good boarding-place, as near as you can.
