Dear Sir:

I expect to send you a colored lady to teach your school, per Steamer, one week from to-day. She will come from Baltimore and land at West River. I want you to be sure to meet her. If anything happens that she does not come that day, look out for each Steamer until she does come. If the steamer should stop running she will be sent to Annapolis, and you will have to get her from there. Her salary will be paid, you will pay her board.

Very Respectfully, Yours

Dear Sir:

I have applied for transportation for [[underlined]] Mary E. Cornish, [[/underlined]] to go to West River, Ann Arundel Co. Md.. I want her to take the boat from Baltimore one week from today. Shall send transportation in season. This is an important school: and if she is not first rate, better not send.

Wish you would be sure about these ladies, and let me know immediately.
