I have two good colored ladies from Philadelphia supported by that Society. Do you want them? If so, send me the names of the places, and I will get transportation.

Dear Sir:

I wrote you some days ago asking how, and on what day, you want the books sent. I have them all packed, and will send them just as you want them: but if I send them on a day when you do not expect them, I am afraid they will be lost. You must have some one ready to receive them, if they come by boat or stage.

Very Respectfully, Yours

Dear Sir:

I have had nothing to do with Alexandria schools since February 1867. If you want information up to that time I will give you my monthly reports.

About Washington County schools, you can learn from Mr. [[underlined]] C. H. Wiltberger, [[/underlined]] Clerk of Board of School Commissioners for the County.

Dear Sir:

The two boxes marked to me at Adams Express Office, are larger than the others, and one of them is twice as large as the other one. Do you want me to mark each to a teacher, and send them on? And will you name the teachers?

Very Respectfully, Yours

Dear Sir:

I have a letter from Miss [[underlined]] Skilton [[/underlined]] in which she says she has no communication from Mr. [[underlined]] Kelsnor, [[/underlined]] and she wishes me to inform you. Mr. [[underlined]] Wadsworth [[/underlined]] thinks there has been delay enough, and so do I. I hope you will see that matters are hurried up, and money got in some way, as soon as may be.

Very Respectfully, Yours

Dear Sir:

How soon will the new school-house, in the 1st ward be ready for use? Will you want the buildings cor. 17th and I, and 24th & F. Sts. after that, or any of their furniture? Do you object to the use of the lower room, cor. 17th and I Sts. for a night school, or one of the other rooms, there or elsewhere? Will you not be able to start some night schools soon? The expense is slight, and need very great. I have constant inquiries for such schools.
