Dear Sir:

I regret to learn of the injury done your school-house. Other evil things of a like nature are being done in other places. If we can find out the persons so doing, we will try to aid you in having them punished, though I am not sure of justice for you in all the courts of Maryland. I advise you all to be quiet; let everything be done in an orderly manner; have a good school, and try to find out any one who does an injury to property or person, and let me know.

Very Respectfully, Yours

Dear Sir:

We return your report for correction and proper filling out. You make a very poor report, and we can make nothing of it. We expect you to read carefully the questions contained in this blank and answer them. You state that you have twenty-nine pupils enrolled, and that you have twenty males and twenty-four females. Which number do you mean? You state your average attendance, "19 1/2 days". This question means the number that attend regularly, not days but pupils. It is found by computing the numbers that attend every day during the month, and dividing by the number of days.

The number always punctual is never greater than the number always present, and yet you state the former at twenty-three, and the latter at six. Please correct and return immediately; also answer the other questions.

Very Respectfully, Yours

Dear Sir:

Glad to hear from you. I do not object to your being examined, if in consequence, the County Board will help the school. By right, some money should be paid toward the support of the school. I hope Dr. [[underlined]] Clater [[/underlined]] is going to help you, and shall be very glad to have him take an interest in the school. I sent you a few days ago, Register, Blanks &c.

Very Respectfully, Yours
