Miss:

I shall not object to your coming down to the Inaugeration, but shall expect you to be absent the shortest possible time. The school has started so late it is now very important that it should go on without a break.

Very Respectfully Yours.

Dear Sir:

I have a letter from Miss [[underlined]] Inghram [[/underlined]] this morning by which I learn that it was impossible for her to go down yesterday; therefore you did not find her at the wharf; but she will certainly be down on the boat next Friday, on the Mary Washington to Spencers Wharf. I hope you will not fail to meet her or have someone, as she is a stranger in a strange place.

Miss:

It is not far from Spencer's Landing to Mr. [[underlined]] J. B. Davis' [[/underlined]] house where you are to board. I judge it cannot be over six or seven miles, and may be much less. I have been to the house but not from the landing. The school is called the "Clark's Mill School", being near a mill of that name. I have written Mr. [[underlined]] Davis [[/underlined]] to meet you next Friday. Hope to hear from you as soon as you reach the place.

Very Respectfully Yours.

Dear Sir:

I send your account. Miss [[underlined]] Swan's [[/underlined]] name is not down, as she has been away from her school a large part of the month on account of the sickness of her sister. Will report for her at some future time. I put [[underlined]] J. B. Douglas [[/underlined]] at $23.00. He has a very large school at Upper Marlboro.

I have not included Miss [[underlined]] Robinson [[/underlined]] as you have not answered in regard to her. She commenced on the 8th of February, and the salary due her would be $15.20. I hope you have concluded to take her.

Very Respectfully Yours.
