The teacher who is coming to your place is to be sent out by another association that engage to pay his salary for three months.  You must take good care of him, and see that his school is well attended &c.  When his term is out you may be able to get Miss [[underlined]] Cornish [[/underlined]] to return.

Md., dated 26th inst. complaining that the teacher I agreed to send them to open school on the 21st had not reported.  He states that they are all prepared for him and will be greatly disappointed if he does not come &c.

I am directed by the Supt. of Education to inform you that the people of Pomonkey, Charles Co. Md. would be glad to accept a teacher for three months on the terms proposed.  The teacher should come to Washington and take the steamer "Keyport", which starts from 7th St. Wharf at 7 A.M. and land at Glymont.  Mr. [[underlined]] Watt Swann [[/underlined]] (Pomonkey), should be notified of his coming, and he will meet the teacher at the landing.
