Friend:

I expect to take the 7-20 train Saturday morning for the meeting. Shall come to Baltimore, and probably stop at [[underlined]] Barnum's [[/underlined]] overnight. I shall go to Magnolia, and expect to find some passage from there to the place. You know I have never been up that way, and do not know the locality. I shall rely on you to put me through.

Respectfully Yours
(Sgd.) John Kimball
Supt. Education.

N.B. If it be not well that I should go to Magnolia, let me know.

Dear Sir:

I will try to visit Centerville, and hold a public meeting soon. I will let you know in time to to address the people. If you know of any large gathering down there, when I might conveniently meet the people, let me know, and I will endeavor to get to such meeting. It will be of no avail for you to come to Washington.

Respectfully Yours,
(Sgd.) John Kimball
Supt. Education.

Dear Sir:

[[underlined]] Miss Bond [[/underlined]] has just been sent, and I have paid her for July - $20.00. Please forward the amount to me. Her school has closed for Aug., but ought to open again Oct. 1st. Will you furnish a teacher. She had to pay transportation up as well as back, $1.50 each way; therefore please send $23.00, and I will send her the $3.00.

[[underlined]] Miss Cornish [[/underlined]] and others from your City write to me about schools for next year. I refer them to you. I think we may do better than promise more employment. We want to improve the teachers this year. About transportation home. I am doing nothing about it. I cannot advance the money from my own pocket. I suppose the teachers will apply to you, and hope you will pay direct, and with that view think I ought to send [[underlined]] Snowden's [[/underlined]] letter to you again.

It is as much trouble for me to draw a [[underlined]] small [[/underlined]] check as for any one.

Respectfully Yours,
(Sgd.) John Kimball
Supt. Education.

N.B. The account was sent in just as you made it out, so you will not need a copy, will you? Your request bout Aikin has gone in, and will be honored I think.

Dear Judge: [[/underlined]]

Can you take some trips and hold meetings. The people desire a school house dedicated at Prince Anne, Somerset Co. We could go on the "Maggie", leaving at 6 o'clock p.m. Tuesday, and reach P. Anne, 9 o'clock a.m., Wednesday, and hold a meeting, and then leave on train 5-15 o'clock p.m., and reach Westover, and then a short ride by stage to [[blank]] and hold meeting on Thursday, and then back to Crisfield that night, and reach Baltimore by the "Maggie" on Friday morning. What say you to going, one week from next Tuesday? The people ought to have a week's notice. Newtown is quite a place in Worcester Co.

Respectfully Yours,
(Sgd.) John Kimball
Supt. Education.

N.B. I will arrange to have large meetings.
