Dear Sir:

I send you a list. It contains some old names and some new ones. The new I have good evidence will prove good. The old we have tried. I am not certain that Miss [[underlined]] Gordon [[/underlined]] wants to teach. I wish we had a better person in the place of Miss [[underlined]] Cornish. [[/underlined]] I don't know that the [[underlined]] Cummings [[/underlined]] sisters wish to teach. If they do, I would like to send them to a new place. They have not applied to me. I have had trouble in settling with Miss [[underlined]] A. H. Cummings, [[/underlined]] and am out myself over $30.00, with her and others. Wish the society would make it good. Paying the teachers and keeping their account for books, and paying them is a real trouble. Will you appoint the list, or do you want vouchers for the new names. There are over eight places in Maryland, for which, I want to secure teachers, and societies to support them.

Dear Sir:

Will you send Miss [[underlined]] Hay [[/underlined]] back to Prince Fredrick, Calvert Co., this term? I hope so. Miss [[underlined]] Watson [[/underlined]] wants to go to Port Deposit, Cecil Co. I would like to have you send her there. Will you? Can you give us more teachers? We need teachers very much.

Respectfully Yours,
(Sgd.) John Kimball,
Supt. Education.

[[underlined]] Hatfield Rev. E. F. [[/underlined]]

Dear Sir:

Chambers wants to stay in the work longer. I would like to have him stay where he is, at Robynstown. What do you say? They want [[underlined]] Gould [[/underlined]] to remain at Oakville. I do not know that he wants to stay, but if he does, will you continue him?

[[underlined]] J. J. Carter [[/underlined]] wishes a good place longer. I would like him to take [[underlined]] Swans [[/underlined]] place at West River. Will you send him. I want a large number of teachers, over eighty (80) in Maryland. I do not know how many of those now in the field would like to remain, or how many of them you would support.

I hope you will give Md. at least 30 good teachers, for the term opening Oct. 1st.

Truly Yours,
John Kimball [[/signature]]
Supt. Education.
