Dear Sir:

Have the desks been made and placed in the school house. You know that is what we are after, not to pay [[?out]] debts, but the aid must come from us for material furnished, and not for furniture outright.

Respectfully,
(Sgd.) John Kimball,
Supt. Education.

Dear Miss:

Do you wish to go back to Nottingham to begin school, on 1st of Oct? If so you can go, same time as last year. Only this, you will now have to pay your transportation on, with little prospect that it will be refunded. The Society will pay your way home. I wish to see you if you come this way. It will be better for you to go by Baltimore I should think.

Respectfully,
(Sgd.) John Kimball,
Supt. Education.

Let me hear from you soon.

[[underlined]] James Mr. W. V. [[/underlined]]

Dear Sir:

[[underlined]] Col. Corson [[/underlined]] has decided to employ you, paying you $20.00 per month (and the people your board) and transportation home. You will have to pay your own way to the field with little prospect of its being refunded.

I can send you to a place near Piscataway, Prince George Co., about 2 miles from this city. It is in the country, and the school was taught by a colored lady, last year. If you wish to go there to begin school on the 1st of oct., let me know, and come on here, when I will give you more directions.

Respectfully Yours,
John Kimball,
Supt. Education.

Dear Sir:

Shall you send teachers to Westminster? If so, will you employ [[underlined]] T. B. Snowden, [[/underlined]] a colored man of that place, who wants the school, and did good service of me last year in Chas. Co. They are building a school house there.

Respectfully,
(Sgd.) John Kimball,
