If he has not already got the money, and is withholding it from you, you will probably get it through [[underlined]] Mr. Drew. [[/underlined]]

Dear Sir: I do not object to your getting up a school, but I cannot pay you anything. Your scholarship is not good enough. You ought to attend school longer. I will try to help the people to get a first class teacher if they will pay his board. How does the school house come on. Let me hear from you.

Respectfully Yours,

[[underlined]] Leach Mrs. M. J. [[/underlined]]

Dear Madam:

I do not know the local names "Beals or St. George," but if they mean the place where [[underlined]] W. H. Foster, and Miss York [[/underlined]] taught last year. I must reply that those teachers will return to those schools, having been appointed before your letter was received. If you wish to return to your old school, I do not know but you could do so, though the Society will not support that school unless the number becomes larger, than it was last year. If you can make an average of 30 scholars, I should like you to take that school. I will see that you are paid $20.00 per month. We have no place where the teachers can work together.

Respectfully Yours,
(Sgd.) John Kimball,
Supt. Education.
