Dear Sir:

I do not see how you make 40 places for rent in Maryland. Did you include some other part of the South. You know I have only had to do with your Md. account. I can get you rent for 21 places in Md. In the other places where you had teachers last year, the [[underlined]] Presby. Asso. [[/underlined]] have been keeping school during the summer and drawing rent; that cuts you off from the use of your number, about 30 in all, I believe. Please reply immediately. For 21 places you will get $210.00 per mo. Is that as you understand.

Respectfully Yours,
(Sgd.) John Kimball,
Supt. Education.

Dear Sir:

Your name has been handed to me by your friend [[underlined]] Mr. Sleigh. [[/underlined]] I can give you a school at Fairfield, St. Marys Co., Md. Salary $20.00 per mo., and board paid. You will have to pay your way to the place. The Society employing you will pay it back back home, at the terminus of your school term July next. If you accept, you can come right on to this place, from whence you will go to Fairfield by steamers on the Potomac river.

Respectfully Yours,

Dear Madam:

I have a letter from [[underlined]] Sebastian Payne [[underlined]] this morning, saying that he wanted to remain at the work. He did very well last year. I was much pleased with the examination, at the close of his school. I would like him to take another school in the same County. Will you retain him. He also states that he has a friend who was educated at the same school, who would like to teach. I hope you will employ both.

Very Respectfully, Yours,
John Kimball,
Supt. Education.
