Gentlemen:

I have been much pleased with the success of the school for the summer, and now you may expect a colored lady, by name, [[underlined]] Miss Whittington, [[/underlined]] in a few days to teach a winter school, on the same terms.

You will only be required to pay her board, and get up a large school.

Respectfully Yours,
(Sgd.) John Kimball,

Have you commenced the winter school for colored persons, if not and you need a teacher, I have a friend in Maine, a lady, for whom I would like to secure the place. She is first class. Please reply stating whether you want her or not, and what you can pay.

Respectfully Yours,

Dear Madam:

The two New Bedford teachers can do well at Barnesville, and Damascus, Montgomery Co., Md., places near each other. They can go via Baltimore and Ohio R.R. to Mt. Airy Station, some 30 miles from the Relay House, where they will be met by Benjamin Davis, colored Trustee for Damascus, who will take them to their schools.

He was here the other day, and wished the Damascus school to open about Oct. 15th. They should write him the day, and train, when they will come to Mt. Airy. They should take the morning train which leaves Baltimore about 9 o'clock. Please have them write me as soon as they reach their destinations.

Respectfully Yours,
(Sgd.) John Kimball,
Supt. Education.
