[[underlined]] Hatfield Rev. E. F. D. D. [[/underlined]]

Dear Sir:

Brooks wrote me that the books had turned up. I told him to have them returned to [[underlined]] Cushings and Bailey and [[/underlined]] the money would be refunded, less the amount for freight. That he should do, then C. and B., will send the money to you or to him. They are true and good men. I cannot deduct anything from the bill, now due; since no books have been returned, and they should not be returned to me any way.
[[underlined]] Geo. W. Roberson [[/underlined]] is now here on his way back to Friendship, Anne Arundel Co., Md. I expect to leave here on Saturday or Monday next.

Respectfully Yours,
(Sgd.) John Kimball,
Supt. Education
