Dear Sir:

The teacher whom we sent to Union Bridge, Miss [[underlined]] Emily Johnson [[/underlined]] writes us that she was not expected, and that the Trustees have employed another teacher who will begin school next month. She was sent there by your advice. You ought to be very careful how you recommend such matters, for a case like this causes much disappointment and trouble.

Very Respectfully, Yours,

Miss:

I am sorry you are disappointed in the school. If the trustees will not make arrangements for you, the best we can do is to send you to the "Parker's Creek" School, near Port Republic, Calvert Co. Md. You should take the Steamer "Planter", which leaves Baltimore at 6 A.M., on Wednesday or Saturday, and land at Plum Point, where you will be informed how to reach your school.

Very Respectfully, Yours,
