Yours received. One of the trustees of the Forestville school informs me that [[underlined]] Sebastian Payne [[/underlined]]

has not reported there. He seemed willing to go to this place, and said he would write on his arrival there. He has probably returned to New York.

I furnished [[underlined]] Payne [[/underlined]] and his friend with school-register and blanks, and forwarded them to all the other teachers, with letters on the 26th ult., with the exception of Miss [[underlined]] Richards, [[/underlined]] whom I supposed had left. I will write them again.

Miss:

The [[underlined]] Bureau [[/underlined]] does not furnish transportation this term. [[underlined]] Col. Corson, [[/underlined]] Secy of [[underlined]] Pa. Branch F. U. Commission, [[/underlined]] at 711 Sansom St. Philadelphia, may be willing to advance you a month's salary, and perhaps he will pay your travelling fees, to return home at the close of your school.

I supposed you would be ready to start tomorrow. You will have to wait another week now. Please let me know at once whether you will go or not.
