Madame:

I promised to write to you as soon as I could hear from Fairfield. We have just received [[underlined]] George Payne's [[/underlined]] report from that place. He states that he has twenty nine pupils and expects to have a large number this month. You stated in your last letter that you might be able to furnish a few more teachers, about the 1st of January. If you can do so we will try to locate them to the best advantage.

Very respectfully, Yours,

Dear Sir:

Yours received. We are doing nothing at present in the way of furnishing material for building school houses, as there are already more places in Maryland, where the people have good school accomodations than we are able to supply with teachers.

Very respectfully, Yours,

Miss:

Yours received. We are sorry to learn that you have been assaulted and abused in such a manner, but we have no agent near you whom we can send to examine the case. We hope nothing of the kind will occur again, but if it is repeated, and you can get no redress from the Justice of the Peace, please inform us.

Very Respectfully, Yours,
